Stress Free Holidays: Cooking with Lavender

Lavender has long been known for its beautiful fragrance as well as it's many therapeutic properties. Maybe you have some lavender candles, essential oils, or lotions that you run to in a time of need. But did you know that lavender also makes a great cooking ingredient?

If you're someone who is easily stressed around the holidays, why not try making some tasty lavender treats to help relax your mind and satisfy your sweet tooth.

Lady D's Indulgences has some fantastic lavender recipes: Lavender Pecan Crisps, Lavender Chocolate Chip Cookies, Lavender Margaritas (I'll admit, I'm curious about this one), Lavender Tea Bread with Lemon Glaze, and Lavender Lemon Bars.

Lavender Fields Farm also has some of it's own tasty looking recipes that make use of dried lavender. The Almond Lavender Biscotti and the Chocolate Dipped Lavender Cookies look delicious.

In addition to just being a tasty treat around the holidays, many of these lavender recipes would also make a great gift in a jar.

Have you cooked with lavender before? Do you have any tasty recipes you'd like to share?
