Most people know that Mother's Day is in May, Father's Day is in June, and Kid's Day is everyday. But what about Grandparent's Day? If you're like me, maybe you had no idea this holiday even existed. But come Sunday September 12th, families across the country will be celebrating National Grandparent's Day.
Jimmy Carter first declared Grandparent's Day a national holiday in 1978, so this special occasion has been going strong for 30+ years. Like Mother's Day and Father's Day, it is a time for families to celebrate together and honor the important role grandparents play in children's lives.
What will you do for your grandparent(s) this Sunday to show them how important they are to you? The National Grandparents Day 2010 website has some fun and frugal ideas. You'll find fun gift ideas, songs and poems, and a variety of activities you can do while spending quality time with your grandparents.
