Hey BeFrugal couponers!
When we’re not getting exclusive coupons and posting updates on hot sales, we’re racking our brains for ways savvy consumers like you can save and shop smarter.
This time around, we’re on the topic of Valentine’s Day. If you’re looking for ways to stick within your budget while stirring up some romance, you’re in luck. We’ve come up with 8 date ideas that’ll fill your Feb. 14th with savings, love and fabulousness!
- Get outdoors: Mid-winter is a blah time of year. It’s tempting to stay inside and just be lazy. While that’s a good idea sometimes, it’s refreshing (and healthy) to get out and be active, too. Visit a local ice rink for a fun and free date idea. Plus, you’ll feel extra cozy cuddling up after a long day of outdoor fun together.
- Be a tourist in your own city: Find the cheesiest tourist activity in your area that you’ve both never done or haven’t done in a long time and have a blast doing it.
- Go for a walk: Explore your city, small town, suburb…wherever you are! Discover places you’ve never been to learn a little more about the place you and your Valentine call home.
- Cheap, spontaneous travel: Go to the airport and find the cheapest, soonest departing flight to whatever destination available. Stay there for a couple days.
- Check out the local music scene: Many bars and pubs host amateur nights where local musicians can take a stab at playing in public. Vote for your favorites and even strike a conversation with the band you liked best after the show.
- Take a class: Join a class just for the day. Try salsa dancing, yoga or pottery making…whatever sounds fun to both of you. It’s usually pretty cheap for one class, and who knows: maybe you’ll both end up really enjoying it.
- Karaoke: Sing you heart out at a local karaoke bar together. Pick the cheesiest duets and don’t worry what you sound like. Just have fun!
- Poker night: Start a two-person poker tournament. But, don’t play for money. Make it fun! Try truth or dare poker or bet on items of clothing.
How do you plan on spending your Valentine’s Day? Are you going all out or keeping it low-key?
