Finding travel deals this summer maybe a little harder than last. Even though airfare and hotel prices are expected to rise again it doesn't mean you can't get away this summer.<\/p>\n

I understand that sometimes another staycation<\/a> just won't do the trick. If your willing to do some leg work there are still deals if your willing to travel at the right time to the right spot. Here are some tips to help you save during the summer travel season.<\/p>\n

  1. Be Flexible - \u00a0If your able to be flexible about the dates your traveling or the location being flexible is a great way to save. If you don't have a specific travel date try using Bing Travel<\/a> to find out when there are cheap fares to your location of choice. My brother has planned some great getaways by using the \u00a0buzz tool<\/a> at Kayak.com. This tool allows you to look at flights within a specific month to help you find the lowest price. \u00a0If your flexible about the location, check out Airfare Watch Dog<\/a> to find the cheapest flights leaving airports near you.<\/li>\n
  2. Pack Light - As a women whom often changes 3 times each day, I can understand that this may not be easy. Pack what you need to bring, not everything you want to bring.\u00a0Southwest Airlines<\/a> allows you to check two bags for free but most airlines can charge a hefty amount for your baggage. Many airlines charge about $25 for your first bag and $35 for a second bag. \u00a0Fees like that can add up fast. Remember to pack smart and save some cash.<\/li>\n
  3. Check The Airlines Website - Start looking for airfare on travel sites such as Expedia<\/a>, Orbitiz<\/a>, Priceline<\/a> or Travelocity<\/a>. Always check the airline's \u00a0own sites as well to ensure your getting the best price.<\/li>\n
  4. Take Advantage Discounts - Since I'm shameless\u00a0every time\u00a0I book a hotel room, rent a car or pay for some type of travel I ask about discounts. Members of organizations such as AARP<\/a> and AAA<\/a> can receive a\u00a0plethora\u00a0of travel discounts. There are discounts out there for seniors, students, children, government employees and military families. It's up to you to ask!<\/li>\n
  5. Rent a\u00a0Vacation\u00a0Home - This is a great option for families or large groups of people traveling together. Renting an apartment, condo or home can often be cheaper then paying for multiple hotel rooms. Also, you can save money by having access to a kitchen so you don't have to eat out 3 times a day. Check out HomeAway<\/a> to get an idea of what's\u00a0available\u00a0to rent at your\u00a0destination.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
