Each Earth Day I try to make an \"Earth Day Resolution\" that'll help our planet. To help with your Earth Day resolution check out these 22 simple ways to go green in honor of this year's Earth Day.<\/p>\n

  1. Try cloth diapers<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  2. Start recycling!<\/li>\n
  3. Install a programmable thermostat.<\/li>\n
  4. Start your own compost pile<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  5. Add your fireplace ash to your compost pile.<\/li>\n
  6. Turn off your computer at the end of the day.<\/li>\n
  7. Bring your old newspapers to an animal shelter so they can use it in cages.<\/li>\n
  8. Replace your incandescent\u00a0light bulbs\u00a0with compact\u00a0fluorescent\u00a0light bulbs.<\/li>\n
  9. Plan to run your errands back to back to save on gas and time<\/li>\n
  10. Shut off appliances when not in use. Try using a power strip so you don't loose your mind unplugging every appliance.<\/li>\n
  11. Join sites like thredUp<\/a> and Out Growing In<\/a> to swap clothes and toys your kid's have grown out of.<\/li>\n
  12. Clean out your car! Extra weight burns more gas.<\/li>\n
  13. Stop buying paper towels and use dish towels instead.<\/li>\n
  14. Go paperless with your bills and pay them online to reduce paper usage.<\/li>\n
  15. Recycle your old\u00a0gadgets<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  16. Buy used textbooks.<\/li>\n
  17. Start carpooling.<\/li>\n
  18. Start checking out \u00a0thrift stores<\/a> to kill your shopping urges.<\/li>\n
  19. Pick up litter.<\/li>\n
  20. Have a yard sale or stop by one.<\/li>\n
  21. Fix that leaking bathroom\u00a0faucet.<\/li>\n
  22. Buy local food.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
