However, trying to find something fun to do can be tricky if you are on a tight budget. October 26<sup>th<\/sup> is National Pumpkin Day, so we came up with a list of frugal pumpkin-themed activities for you and your children that the whole family will love.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><u>Visit a Pumpkin Patch<\/u>: Instead of buying pumpkins at your local market, visit a pumpkin patch instead. Not only will you be able to buy pumpkins at a lower cost, but picking out your own pumpkins is a fun activity in itself. Check out this list of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.funtober.com\/pumpkinpatches\/\" target=\"_blank\">pumpkin patches by state<\/a> to find one near you.<\/li>\n<li><u>Pumpkin Seed Mosaics<\/u>: Many people set aside pumpkin seeds for a nice fall snack, but pumpkin seeds can also be used for arts and crafts. Dye and glue your pumpkin seeds for colorful three-dimensional mosaics. Create number-labeled cards, flip them over, and have your child pick one out. Next, have him or her take out the amount of pumpkin seeds to match the number on the card. This is a great way to practice counting without spending money on extra books and flashcards.<\/li>\n<li><u>Pumpkin Bowling<\/u>: Save some money at the bowling alley by bowling in your own backyard with pumpkins. All you needs is several small pumpkins and a bouncy ball.
