Tomorrow is International Day of Families and we’re here to give you a few tips to save on family activities.
There is no question that families across the nation- and globe, come in all shapes and sizes with varying traditions and backgrounds. However, whatever your version of family -and family fun is, one thing most have in common is that they want the simplicity of enjoying their loved ones, with the focus less on the cost of the activity and more on the quality of time spent.
Take a Look at these 3 Tips for Saving on Family Activities:
- Get Out
Outside that is… Though this tip can be weather-dependent, enjoying the free beauty and adventure that comes with the outdoors is one of the best ways to save on memory-making with your family.
- Pack a lunch and go on a picnic
- Go fishing
- Visit a Botanical Garden
- Go kayaking
- Go explore some local trails and take a hike
- Create a fun scavenger hunt
- Be Creative
For those right-brained families, who love artistic expression and anything creative, do just that: Create something together!
- Gather items and knick knacks from around the house and create a time-capsule to bury in your back yard
- Write a story together
- Paint a mural together
- Work on a family memory album together
- Do Some Good Together
What is your family’s mission statement? What are the morals, ethics, and causes your family stands by or is passionate about? Sometimes, spending time as a family is not just about having fun, but also working (and bonding) side by side on causes close to your heart.
- Volunteer at a local shelter or food pantry
- Run a Race for a good cause that has affected your family or loved ones (i.e. Autism, Cancer, Diabetes, etc.)
- Host a fundraiser
- Clean up trash at a local beach
