Acetone nail polish remover is the wd-40 of the beauty world. It may not be the best smelling stuff and some of the foul smelling chemicals can melt plastic but it sure can clean! Here are just a few new uses for nail polish remover.
- Remove stains from china - To remove spots from your beloved china scrub spots scrub spots with acetone nail polish remover. After scrubbing spots away wash your china as normal.
- Removing scuff marks - Don't toss your beloved patent leather pee toe black pumps because of scuff marks! Dip a cotton swab in the remover, apply it to the scuff mark and rub gently to remove the mark. You can do the same with scuff marks on your tile floor.
- Removing markers - I learned this while babysitting a rather artistic 2 year old. Put some nail polish remover on a rag then scrub whatever the little artist has drawn on.
- Remove stickers from glass - Getting a sticker off glass is a pain. Rather than giving a gift with pieces of price tag left apply nail polish remover to the sticker to remove it.
- Dissolve super glue - If you have ever glued your fingers stuck together with super glue then this is for you. Rather than trying to pry your fingers apart and possibly peel off some skin with the glue just reach for your nail polish remover. Soak a cotton ball (or whatever you can get) in nail polish remover then apply it directly on to the glued area until you can feel the glue loosen.
- Get ink off - If ink stains won't come off your hands with soap and water try nail polish remover! Take a cloth and wipe the ink stained areas with nail polish remover.
- Cleans watches - After awhile the face of watches get all scratched up. If the face of your watch is made from unbreakable plastic gently run remover over scratches until they vanish.
- Dilute correction fluid - Pour a few drops of nail polish remover into a goop filled bottle of correction fluid then shake. Add a little more to get a consistency you need.
- Clean you computer keyboard - Dip an old toothbrush in nail polish remover then lightly rub the computer keys.
- Clean brass - Old brass lacquer can be safely removed with nail polish remover. Pour a small amount of nail polish remover on a soft cloth. Next gently rub the brass until the lacquer is gone. Now you can polish your brass.
Do you have any uses for nail polish remover that I missed? Besides removing nail polish, what do you use nail polish remover for?
